The CC and CG Cup program is a series of unit based tournaments that are conducted on each Marine Corps Base and Air Station each month. The program supports eight different sports (basketball, softball, flag football, soccer, bowling, racquetball, volleyball, and golf). Depending on how a team places at the Base or Air Station level, will dictate whether or not they advance to the next higher tournament in the program, the CG tournament. The top five primary teams as well as any secondary teams that may have placed first, second or third from each Base or Air Station will advance to play in the Combined CG Cup competitions. Depending on how a team places in the CC tournament, along with possible advancement to the CG, they will earn participation and standing points. The eligible unit team that accumulates the most points at the end of a quarter will be awarded the CC and CG quarterly trophy and the team that accumulates the most points at the end of the year will be presented with the overall CG trophy. Depending on how a team places in the CC tournament, along with a possible advancement to the CG, they will earn participation and standing points.
