Courtney Festival

Fall Fun for the Whole Family

A new school year well underway, cooler weather and grocery aisles full of candy are all signaling autumn’s arrival. With a celebratory nod to the season, Courtney Festival is bringing amusement aplenty. On October 23 from 1 to 9 p.m., head to the Courtney Bowling Center parking lot for a Saturday full of fall fun for the whole family!

And, of course, come hungry. Hickory House BBQ, 305 Latin Grill and Bulldogs Burgers and Kanpai Lounge will all be serving up your favorite festival food and beverages while you enjoy the DJ music and Fun Land rides. On top of all that, get in the Halloween spirit a little early, too. There’s even a trunk-or-treat portion of the festival in the works. For more information about trunk-or-treating, reach out to Camp Courtney Camp Operations at 622-7145/46.

Courtney Festival will run with the safety of all attendees in mind. In keeping with III MEF / MCIPAC-MCBB guidelines, your cooperation and consideration for the health of our community is appreciated. Social distancing, face coverings and limited group sizes (no more than six individuals per group) will be enforced. Please also note that glass bottles, pets and outside food and alcohol will not be permitted.

Open to SOFA and DoD ID card holders island-wide. Access to Courtney Festival will be via Gate 3.

For more information about Courtney Festival, please contact MCCS Special Events at 645-5828 (DSN) or 098-970-5828 (off base).

This year's Camp Schwab Festival will take place Saturday, November 6 and Sunday, November 7 from 1 to 9 p.m. both days at the BeachHead's parking lot.

This festival welcomes all services members, their families and Japanese citizens to the island's northernmost Marine camp to partake in a weekend of friendship, festival food and fun with FREE live entertainment, Fun Land, a car show and a military static display. Bring your appetites as delicious food-such as Hickory House All-American BBQ, zesty selections from 305 Latin Bistro, hearty burgers from Bulldogs, Sumo Burrito and more. Speaking of zesty selections, this year's festival has a wide variety of entertainment on tap. Saturday's lineup includes a Polynesian dance performance by Pua Hinano, Okinawan cultural dance and taiko drum troupe Ouka, rockabilly from Koza City Kats, variety music from DOTZ and hard rock from 8-Ball. Sunday's lineup features a display of dancing skill courtesy of Belly Dance Okinawa, more Okinawan traditional dance and drumming from Eisa-Crew Crown, a street basketball performance from Stars Entertainment, classic rock from Sakura Ishadoh and hard rock and heavy metal from As Alliance.

Also, no one will be admitted with pets, bottles, outside alcohol or coolers. And, as always, we encourage everyone to drink responsibly; don't drink and drive.
