Mission: The High Intensity Tactical Training (HITT) program is unique to the Marine Corps. It is a comprehensive strength and conditioning program tailored to the needs of the tactical athlete. The HITT program is science-based and developed by certified fitness professionals.


Fitness Coordinators: Each of the 6 primary camps have a Fitness Coordinator who works out of one of the manned gyms. The Fitness Coordinators conduct the HITT program on their respective camp. All Fitness Coordinators are certified fitness professionals and are considered the fitness Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).

HITT Small Unit Leaders (SUL) Course: The HITT SUL course is a 5-day introduction to leading safe and effective strength and conditioning workouts. The course is open to Marines and Sailors E-4 and above, with a first class PFT, CFT, or PRT. After attending the course, Marines and Sailors may lead HITT workouts for their unit, as well as utilize the HITT lockers/equipment. The course can provide a solid foundation for Marines who wish to later become their unit’s Force Fitness Instructor (FFI). Personnel may request a HITT Course at by filling out the HITT SUL Course Request Form.

HITT Class: The HITT program offers hour-long classes at each camp taught by a Fitness Coordinator. Typically each camp offers an 0530-0630 class during the summer and 0530-0630/1130-1230 the rest of the year. HITT classes are open to all individuals with base access.

Consults/Briefs: Fitness Coordinators may be asked to perform individual nutrition/ fitness consults, or nutrition/fitness briefs for a unit. Requests should be directed to or through the respective camp’s fitness coordinator.

MCCS Health Promotion hosts a variety of strength and cardio-based group fitness classes across MCB Butler. Group Fitness classes are free and open to all individuals with base access. Youth may attend Group Fitness classes with a parent or legal guardian present, and after the youth has completed a Youth Orientation.

MCCS Health Promotion is currently hiring Group Fitness Instructors certified to teach cycle/spin, strength, and circuit formats. To begin the application process, please email In your email, include the format(s) you wish to teach and the camp(s) you wish to teach at.
