While the adults are getting down and dirty, the kids (only ages 5-8) will compete like kids - with good, clean fun on the 1K Kids' Challenge. Their challenge will be running through an obstacle course with no mud because, contrary to popular belief, consumption of mudpies is not good for growing boys and girls. The kids will jump, climb, duck and run through obstacles like a wall climb, cargo nets, hurdles and beams - all handcrafted by the MCCS Facilities Management Branch. Kids will also face inflatable obstacles challenges. This course features mostly grass terrain with some pavement.
The 1K Kids' Challenge is open to kids 5-8 and will have a morning session (8:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.) and an afternoon session (12:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.) on April 9. Children 9-14 can run through the muddy trails of the 3K Kids' course. The 1K and 3K are $10 per child. All races are open to kids island-wide.
