A study in versatility, Yui Kanan is an EDM DJ and CEO of the professional cosplay company, ONIGIRI PLUS Inc. After receiving 3rd place in the world at WCS 2008 for a cosplay performance, she sharpened her cosplay skills and knowledge working in the entertainment industry to create the very first professional cosplay company in Japan. She works closely with clients from animation, game, manga, local official and NPOs to maintain a professional work environment for cosplayers while making cosplay and cosplayers more accepted by Japanese society. She was an image cosplayer for the Tokyo Comic Con in 2016 and 2017 and managed the cosplay section at the events, including setting up stage events sponsored by Air Asia, Sony Entertainment and Disney.
Recently, after her appointment as a special teacher at Digital Hollywood University, Kanan had been traveling to many high schools and universities to share her knowledge and experience while also studying intellectual property law and other ideologies overseas.
