Naoko Shimabukuro
Manga producer and editor from Naha, Okinawa.
After building her career working as an editor for Okinawan manga comic book “Comic Okinawa“ and Okinawan information book ”Town Okinawa,“ Naoko Shimabukuro established her own publishing company in 1995. In 2011, the company became an incorporated association established as Comichan Co., LTD. Although Shimabukuro-san serves as the CEO of Comichan Co., she also holds many roles such as the editor of the e-book ”Comic Champru,“ a chief Okinawa Chapter of Japan Cartoonist Association, an instructor at a vocational school, and a manga producer.
Her latest work “Comic Champru” contains Okinawa themed manga stories which features Okinawan manga artists and mange enthusiasts in the local community.
島袋直子

沖縄県那覇市出身。沖縄のマンガ雑誌「コミックおきなわ」、タウン情報誌「おきなわJOHO」の編集長を経て1995年に独立。法人化や社名変更を行い、2011年には「株式会社コミチャン」へ。現在は代表取締役社長、電子書籍「コミックチャンプルー」編集長、(公社)日本漫画家協会沖縄ブロック長、専門学校講師、マンガプロデュースなど。
「コミックチャンプルー」では沖縄をテーマにした漫画を配信。漫画家もほとんど沖縄出身又は在住。
Okina Kamino
1970 - Born in 1970 in Naha, Okinawa.
1999 - Made his debut as a writer with “Yamiiro no sen tenshi : Battle Angel in Darkness.“
2003 - His novel series “Asobi ni Iku-yo!” [translated as Let's go play!] was such a hit, an anime adaptation premiered in 2010. Even more successful in 2011, American entertainment company, Funimation licensed and dubbed the anime series in English under the playful title “Cat Planet Cuties.” Still loved by many anime fans, “Cat Planet Cuties” is available on Blu-ray DVD and through Crunchyroll, the popular American streaming service.
Presently, Kamino-san balances his time writing light novels (ranobes) such as “Run & Shoot!” and “Elf de Bikini de Machine Gun!” and writing manga novels such as his recent publications “Tarot Night,” “Kamikaze no Kuni,” and “National Police Agency Private Special Force KUDAN”.
神野オキナ(かみの・おきな)
1970年沖縄生まれ、在住
1999年「闇色の戦天使」でデビュー
2003年「あそびにいくヨ!」がヒット。2010年にアニメ化
(2011年「Cat Planet Cuties」のタイトルでアメリカファニメーションにより翻訳され動画サイト・クランチロールにて配信、のちにDVD,Blu-rayとして発売。)
以後「疾走れ、撃て!」「エルフでビキニでマシンガン!」などライトノベルを主軸に「タロット・ナイト」「カミカゼの邦」「警察庁私設特務部隊KUDAN」など、一般向け小説も執筆中。
Yasunori Hori
Born and raised in Okinawa, Japan, Yasunori Hori is a manga illustrator who has worked with many publications to showcase his artwork. A manga instructor since 2013, Hori-san's background is quite extensive. His manga illustrations are found in works such as Comic Okinawa (1991), Binds Bancho (Shonen Jumpa Magazine, 1994), Dr, Uemura Story (2014), Okinawa Urban Monorial and many other public posters. His latest illustrations are featured in picture book "Like a Cherry Blossom."
Yasunori Hori will be showcasing his manga illustrations at Comic Con Okinawa as well as offering manga drawing demos. Hori-san will be featuring a coloring contest. Check back for more details and the downloadable coloring sheet.
