Ombudsman Advanced Trainings

Initial, or basic, training ensures that ombudsmen deliver a standard level of service to the Navy families. As ombudsmen grow in their roles, advanced training enables them to stay abreast of changes in services and to become familiar with new programs available to Sailors and their families. Advanced trainings begin after an ombudsman completes OBT.

Family Readiness Groups (FRGs)

The Family Readiness Group is a professionally run, volunteer organization that is governed by organizational bylaws. The FRG provides social informational and morale building to enhance family readiness and enable local Navy families to meet the challenges of the Navy lifestyle. The FRG also provides direct support to families whose sailors are away as an Individual Augmentee. Trainings are eight hours.
