The Transition Readiness Program provides transition assistance, information, training, and services to eligible Service Members to prepare them to be career ready when they transition back to civilian life. The program promotes awareness of the Career Readiness Standards (CRS) Service Members must meet to create a successful transition plan during the Transition Readiness Seminar per the Veterans Opportunity to Work and Hire Heroes Act of 2011 (VOW Act). The Transition Readiness Seminar is required for active duty members separating from service. Service Members are eligible to attend as early as 24 months prior to separation. To register and receive the pre-work checklist Service Members must contact their Unit Transition Coordinator (UTC). The Marine For Life Cycle model requires every Marine at their first Permanent Duty Station (PDS) to attend the Personal Readiness Seminar (PRS) within 90 days of their arrival per MARADMIN 568/16. The PRS provides Marines with an understanding of resources and program available to assist them with developing and supporting career and personal goals, while on active duty and beyond.
Due to the uprising of COVID-19 and the precautionary measures taking place, JRC will be canceling all classes until further notice. To complete this requirement, personnel must complete the online registration through Joint Knowledge Online (JKO) prior to completing the course. The course code and instructions for registering will be provided via email. Please contact MCBB_PRS@usmc.mil to register and please provide the following information:

During the IC it will be identified which pathway the Service Members will be required to complete and will determine if a 2-day track(s) are required, prior to the Unit Transition Coordinator (UTC)* registering the Service Member for TRS. The 2-day tracks are Managing Your Education (MYE), Department of Labor Employment Workshop (DOLEW), Vocational Tech (VoTech), and U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Entrepreneur Track - Boots to Business (B2B).

Service Members must schedule their Individual Counseling (IC) appointments before attending the Transition Readiness Seminars. Once an IC appointment has been scheduled, a transition staff member will provide instructions on how to access their counselor prior to their appointment via email. To schedule your IC appointment, please use the camp links below. The style and availability of appointments may vary by location. When scheduling through the individual appointment links, Service Members will have the option to elect for in-person or virtual style appointments during registration. Service Members who register using the group links, will require the Service Member to attend in-person and cannot be conducted virtually. The Unit Transition Coordinator (UTC) coordinates with the installation transition office to ensure their Service Members within their units meet all requirements for the Transition Readiness Program (TRP). As the UTC, you will ease the process of transition to civilian life for all separating, retiring, deactivating, and demobilizing Service Members regardless of their rank. In order to become a UTC you must be appointed in writing by the CO. Please use the UTC letter template listed under resources. Once the letter has been completed please email a copy to MCBB_TRP@usmc.mil to request UTC training.
As a newly appointed UTC you must be:
· Appointed in writing
· In the rank of E-5 or above and not currently serving as the Career Planner
· At least 12 months remaining with the command
· Reports directly to the CO/XO
· Complete UTC training no later than 45 days of appointed letter

The CO or designee, as scheduled by the UTC, personally interviews each separating Service Member to determine if they have met all of the required Career Readiness Standards (CRS), have a viable plan to transition from military to civilian life, and has been provided a warm handover to connect with external agencies that offer additional assistance post transition through the eForm (DD2648). In order to become a designee, you must be appointed in writing.
As a newly appointed designee you must:
· Be appointed in writing by the CO or O5 (with court martial authority) and not appointed as a UTC
· In the rank of an E6 or above
· Receive designee training through the UTC or transition office
· Review CRS and address any areas of concern or non-compliance before electronically signing the eForm
· Receive official email 'token' to complete the eForm
