Did you know that SFYS accepts applications for Youth Coaching all year round? If you are interested in volunteering, please follow the below steps to apply:1. Fully complete a Coaching Application: This can be found in the "Coaches Corner" of the Youth Sports webpage or picked up from our office located on Camp Foster (Bldg. #5952). All background checks must be routed through the appropriate offices (PMO, Family Advocacy, etc.) - Please ensure that you have provided all of your contact information, practice day and time preferences, etc. - Please note that the more flexible you are on age divisions, practice days/times and locations, the better the chances of being selected as a coach. You may select multiple age divisions on the form however, we ask that you number them by preference.
2. Submit your Application: Once your application has been fully completed (with all background checks taken to each facility for a signature), please visit our office to get your fingerprint appointment scheduled.
Also, all applicants will be required to visit the MCCS Human Resources Office located on Camp Foster (Bldg. #5966) to have their fingerprints scanned. Please note that this is a mandatory requirement and there are no exceptions. For more information, please contact us at 645-3533/3534.
For the DD Form 2981, this only requires your information and signature. You do not have to take this form anywhere to get signed/routed. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at 645-3533/3534 or at youthsports@okinawa.usmc-mccs.org. We will continue to recruit coaches until all vacancies are filled however, we highly recommend submitting your application as early as possible.
